This collection of songs represents an evolved expression encompassing 17 years of compositional development. From my college days growing up as a musician in Madison and NIU, to tunes written as dedications to my wife and family, to new compositions written as reflections on the state of our modern society, each tune tells a story.

The band is made up of long time musical partner Jake Polancich, and is filled out with more recent additions to the ensemble, David Dinauer and Craig Rigby. Each musician shares their own voice on this music, offering new ideas into tunes I had once thought were dead; Coop's Soup, Trisectomy, After All, Dancing with Shadows, Sita's Song, Comeback To Me. Also on previously unrecorded material, they brought to life tunes that never had a voice; Hi- Hat, Finding a Way, Behind Her Eyes and Maroon. Along the way they helped to shape a new sound by contributing compositionally with tunes like Rigby's Unattended Longings, and Polancich's Walking Into a Room, which is the namesake of the album.

We blur the lines between straight ahead and free jazz, taking chances while finding new vehicles of musical expression. Audiences are drawn into our shows through storytelling, as they relate to the passion on display and see pieces of themselves in the music. We know that we can walk into and room or venue and put on a personal, honest, and authentic show. Enjoy!
